We have decided to forgo the traditional wholesale model, choosing to offer the best value to our customers by cutting out retail, thus, reducing the prices and selling directly to you, our customer.

Having been an advisor for many years, hired by the Peruvian trade commission to advise their leading and upcoming fashion designers, I thought to have the covers made in Peru.  After many months of development, I decided to move the production closer to home and have them knitted in the USA, where I could better guide the process. To honor the roots of this project, we are having the chakra drawstring hand woven in Peru by Indigenous persons to incorporate tradition into our pieces.

The problem is simply that there isn’t a sufficient, sustainable or safe way to pack these expensive and fragile singing bowls used in sound harmonics, concerts, meditations and for energetic healing purposes. Whether your bowls are Quartz crystal, Alchemy gemstone, or Tibetan bowls, there needed to be a better solution to protect them when in transit. Currently, most owners of these bowls, wrap them in the plastic bubble wrap that they come shipped in from the manufacturer of the bowls. This is unsustainable as the plastic is unwieldly and difficult to re-use time and time again and is not environmentally friendly. 

The few products that do exist, made from either nylon acrylic over cardboard or made from Neoprene are all toxic materials.  As well, they do have any adaptability beyond a specific size, thus do not fit a range of bowl sizes as the heights of these bowls often differ from one bowl to the next. 

We have learned that the acrylic covers often come broken and are cheaply produced and will need to be replaced time and time again.  The neoprene covers do not expand so they only fit a specific dimension and as stated previously these bowls, especially the Alchemy crystal bowls made from crushed Gemstones come in a variety of heights and sizes and require a cover that can be adapted to fit their unique size. 

Both current options, only cover the outside of the bowl and do not cover the inside of the bowls and are one height, where as the bowls come in a variety of heights.The current covers available make it extremely difficult to lift the bowls out from each other when unpacking from their very snug nesting position. They are difficult to manage and work with as they grip and do not slide easily so the bowls need to be gingerly wedged in and out of their “nesting” position.

We have identified and designed a better way to care for and carry your bowls when they are nested for transit as the bowls are usually layered one bowl inside of another for up to 4 bowls at a time. Our Eco-Luxe covers are double the height of the medium heights of the bowls which allows the covers to fold over the tops of the bowls, offering double protection both inside and out. The covers are knitted in the U.S.A. out of 94.5% sustainable yarn spun from 50% recycled fabric scraps and 50% plastic bottles with the addition of 5% lycra for added stretch and flexibility. The covers fit snuggly over the bowls in the same way we wear a sweater over our skin for insulation and warmth, creating a layer of protection between ourselves and the elements. The ribbed knit with the addition of lycra, make it easy to slide the covers over the bowls when dressing them and conversely easy to slide off the bowls when undressing them.  Our 2 x 2 rib knit acts as a locking system so that when the bowls are nested, they do not move around as the ribs intersect. Our chakra drawstring which is hand woven in Peru, provides a secure handle to grasp when lifting and lowering the bowls from their nesting position.

The covers are offered in 6 sizes to fit most bowls ranging in size from 4” to 15” in widths, each size adapting to a 2 inch variance in bowl sizes. We have done extensive research on a variety of bowl sizes and heights to determine a medium height for our covers so that they will adapt to fit over most any size bowl.  The heights of the covers are knitted in double the actual medium height of the bowls to allow for the covers to be folded back and rest at the base of the inside of the interior of the bowls and thus creating insulation to the inside of the bowls as well as the outside of the bowls.

* When selecting the right sizes for your Quartz Crystal and Alchemy Gemstone bowls please measure the width of your bowl and you will be able to determine which are the correct sizes to order.

SIZING GUIDELINES FOR TIBETAN BOWLS

When ordering for your Tibetan bowls we measure a different way.  Take the measurement across the width of the base of your bowl.  That will give you the size to order.  So not measuring the width at the widest part but the width of the base. Our covers have a great deal of stretch as the opening at the top will expand to fit over most Tibetan bowls circumference.
